Con la participación de la Universidad de California San Diego (UC San Diego), Centro Fox y la Fundación Vamos México, inicia operaciones el “Centro de Posibilidades”, el cual fungirá como semillero de proyectos comunitarios con alto impacto social, al reunir maestros y estudiantes de México y Estados Unidos.

Ubicado en el Centro Fox y a través de la gran alianza establecida con la UC San Diego, el Centro de Posibilidades recibirá a niños, jóvenes, y adultos para cursos presenciales y virtuales, dichos cursos son gratuitos, en español y certificados por la UCSD. 

Algunas de estas clases también serán dirigidas por instructores capacitados por la UCSD y graduados a través del programa ALAS (Activando Líderes en Acción Social), un programa de liderazgo y proyectos comunitarios que lleva a cabo la Fundación Vamos México, A.C. 

“ALAS” es un programa que lleva 6 años que nos lleva a la búsqueda de hacer líderes a jóvenes en colaboración con la UCSD y durante estos años las 6 generaciones de ALAS y  docenas de jóvenes han aplicado sus proyectos comunitarios con habilidad, pasión y compromiso, sobre todo con su gente y sin duda alguna se han convertido en grandes mexicanos. Esto solo es el inicio de grandes cosas.” Comentó la Sra. Marta Sahagún de Fox, Presidenta de Fundación Vamos México.

“El plan del Centro de Posibilidades es presentarles… a los jóvenes de qué se trata el liderazgo, no nacieron para ser pobres, ni pandilleros, nacieron para ser cosas grandes en su vida.” Expresó el Lic. Vicente Fox, Presidente de Centro Fox.

Barely 22 years into a new millennium (which is quite a short time) and women continue to be shamelessly easy and constant targets of social prejudice, even as in the old days. We seem to know the story, but we tend to ignore it. Between sexism, xenophobia and other contributions of hate, the panorama of reflection seems limited.

Fortunately, for understanding the contributions of the so-called “minorities”, persist; which, hands on the table, have never really been.

Mexican author of frank and memorable writings, Valeria Luiselli is a particular exception in the world of feminism and literature. Unclassifiable, in favor of language and empathy, Luiselli knows, firsthand, that literature is not an easy job, much less for women.
